The 27-year-old woman looked casual yet stylish in her distressed denim and off-the-shoulder sweater, which flaunted her décolletage. Despite two female friends accompanying her without face masks, she maintained a relaxed smile while chatting with them. Selena’s bare face and natural pink pout gave the impression that she didn’t wear any makeup. She accessorized with a black shoulder purse and her long brunette hair cascaded down her back in loose curls.

Since the coronavirus quarantine, she has been shying away from the limelight and is rarely seen in public, spending less time on social media. Her romantic comedy is set to be one of the first films shown in theaters as they reopen after COVID-19 closures. The worldwide rights to Natalie Krinsky’s film were sold by No Trace Camping to Stage 6 Films of Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions. Broken Hearts Gallery will be the first major studio release, followed by the thriller Unhinged starring Russell Crowe, which will premiere nationally on July 1st.

Coming soon: The Broken Hearts Gallery, a new romantic comedy executive produced by Selena, will be one of the first major studio release in theaters this summer

Since mid-March, the coronavirus pandemic has forced movie theaters across the country to shut down. However, as of last weekend, there were 554 theaters in the US that reopened for business, including 243 drive-in cinemas. California will soon be joining in on the fun as movie theaters in the state are set to reopen on June 12. This is particularly notable as California is home to about 500 of the 5,400 theaters across the country. The upcoming romantic comedy, The Broken Hearts Gallery, boasts an impressive cast including Geraldine Viswanathan from Blockers, Dacre Montgomery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Molly Gordon, Phillipa Soo of Hamilton fame, Suki Waterhouse, Arturo Castro, Ego Nwodim from Saturday Night Live, Taylor Hill, and theater legend Bernadette Peters.

Safety first: 'I hope everyone will listen to scientists' recommendations and consider others' health and safety while enjoying the movie theater experience,' Gomez said of the movie, which opens July 10; shown in January

It is crucial to have more women directors and writers in the entertainment industry. Selena Gomez has expressed her excitement to be a part of Natalie’s debut film. Although some people are hesitant to resume their pre-COVID-19 hobbies, Gomez hopes that everyone will prioritize the advice of scientists and consider the health and safety of others when watching a film in theaters. Josh Greenstein, the head of Sony’s Motion Picture Group, believes that “The Broken Hearts Gallery” will provide audiences with a much-needed feel-good summer movie experience. As soon as state-by-state safety criteria are met, they eagerly anticipate partnering with exhibition companies for a theatrical comeback. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has urged for the swift release of “The Broken Hearts Gallery.”
