“Shakira’s Heartfelt Journey to Reconnect with Her Roots in Lebanon”

Shakira, the famous pop star from Colombia, recently paid a visit to her ancestral village in Lebanon where her paternal grandmother was born. According to reports, the 41-year-old singer arrived at the village of Tannourine in the northern mountainous region of Lebanon amidst tight security. During her visit, she greeted the locals in Arabic and expressed her happiness at being able to visit the place of her roots.

Joined by officials from the area, Shakira went on a trip to a nature reserve where they cultivate cedar trees, the national symbol of Lebanon. During the visit, she planted two young trees and named a section of the reserve Shakira Mubarak, in honor of one of her family names. The mayor of Tannourine, Bahaa Harb, declared this as a significant event.

Last Friday, Shakira commenced the Cedars International Festival in Lebanon with a bustling concert that drew a crowd of 13,000 people. While in Lebanon, she also visited the Tannourine Cedars Reserve in Tannourine.

Shakira is currently in Lebanon for her third visit to the country. She first visited in 2003 and made a return in 2011 for a concert. The singer is accompanied by her two sons on this trip.
